There are a few things that I know

Do you remember being a kid and thinking that adults just have it all together and that they just know sooo much?  Well I do.  I remember thinking that one day I would be an adult and would be settled and understand politics, the stock market, and surely I'd be a natural at relationships and raising children... I mean that's what adults do............. right?

Well, here I am, married, working full-time, and looking forward to buying a home within the year and thinking about starting a family.  Unfortunately, the above paragraph scarcely applies to me.

However........ There are a few things I know.  With life come general life knowledge, and I'm slowly joining the crowd of "experienced adults"  that is, at best, getting along in this world and figuring it out as I go.  Here are a few things that I've done that have taught me volumes....

1. Graduated 3 times
2. Met a boy who loves me

See, I told you  he loves me.. He even made a list about it.

Not exactly all in this order..... but more or less........

3. Loved on some kids from another continent who don't speak my language

4. Got engaged

Planned a wedding... Here's where you find your real friends.  A friend who can love you through the entire wedding process is worth keeping..... Forever.

Disclaimer:  There are many other friends not photographed here...... I love you all.

4. Taught some kids some English in various countries..

Being an expert at something really pays off sometimes.  I'm really good at speaking English, I've been doing it for as long as I can remember.

5. Then I got married

I can hardly begin to tell what this has taught me.  What an exciting relationship to enter into. One that sharpens me as iron against iron and teaches me to laugh at myself and to accept unconditional love that sometimes is so undeserved.  We are blessed.

6. Then I moved in with the boy who loves me.

This boy was apparently unaware of the camera on move-in-day. Here we are holding the keys to our apartment last summer.

The list could certainly go on, and though I'm no expert on life, I'm getting pretty darn close... (Not really) The point is that I've been through quite a lot in the past 5 years in the time that I've been a legal adult.  Now that I'm 23, I'm sure my hair will gray soon and I'll start falling apart. I hear that it all goes down hill around 30... I'm going to stay positive though.

There are a few things I know.  God loves me, my husband loves me, I'm surrounded my amazing friends who love me, I've been blessed with a job, and I know that whatever the future holds, will be super exciting. So that's all for now.  Stay with me, and invite your friends ;)

A very small taste of Spring Break

Now that I'm all grown and am forced to live in the 'real world', I've had to settle into a few differences.  One of the biggest has been going from a student to full-time employee.  The greatest change has been from Bride to Wife (see former post)  The point is, I'm no longer a student which means I don't get a Spring Break anymore.  This year is the first since I was 5 years old.  So, it's a little weird.

This weekend was the first weekend the Husband and I have had coordinating schedules and been able to spend some quality tiempo together.  I decided to be awesome and do whatever He decided would be fun... (this is significant because we have vastly differing opinions of what constitutes as time well spent). We decided to make the whole weekend a date.  Starting with dinner and a movie, but Saturday was His day to plan our fun... The following is what occurred:

Husband decided to have a picnic in McKee Park, so providing the food was up to him.  I decided to document the experience.

On our way out with everything ready.  Husband was super excited and I decided to look excited.  I know what you're thinking.  "Wow I'd love to go on a picnic by choice of my husband... that's so romantic etc... etc.. blah.. blah.. blah. "--- Don't get me wrong, I love spending time with the husband, but I'm just not the outdoorsy kinda girl...

We are now at the park and Husband is now doing his Biblical duties by keeping me safe by checking for wasps under the cement picnic table... Or it could be the fact that he's a Forester... Either way, yay for safety.

Our delightful picnic just before we dove in....

Aren't we precious.  Look how happy I look outside and all... (I really was happy, I can't help it when I know Hubs is so happy too)

This is NOT a picture of a tree...  It is, in fact, a picture of 4 Asians playing tennis; however, you cannot see them or their giant bucket of tennis balls, complete with a stand.  They were pretty hardcore.

Next we went to play Disc Golf on campus.  Here we are walking to the first Hole... Unlike my husband, I am not a goat and decided to walk where the ground was flat, saving my ankles.

I'm pretty terrible at Disc Golf, but I can fool you with my photography.  For example, I got this pink frisbee in from 30 yards out... That's a lie, but you couldn't know that from this photo.. The truth is, Ben putted it in from 10 feet or so.

While walking to hole 4.. I thought, "Hey, we should go see Dan the Man.... You're right husband, it's Saturday and he's probably not in his office at this time..."  Onward..

Here's the husband carrying all his discs in a very professional Disc Golf bag.. Compliments of my dad at Christmas.

Unfortunately, my camera died just before I got the rest of our day.  It included lots of sleeping ducks, Husband stepping into the lake we were next to in order to rescue his stray disc...

Also not photographed:  Giant Mugshot burgers from Saturday night, our cleaning experience over the weekend, Sonic, and our love and companionship that is continuing to grow :)  Don't you love the sappy love stuff??

Well, now you've seen into our lives just a little.  The only thing that could have made this weekend better would have been getting to spend some time with my KA... I'll get back to you love.

Meet Sierra....... "Oh, the Runner?"

Well here it is... My official "First 5K" blog.  And just look.. it's only a week and 2 days late... Sorry people, I don't own an iPhone..  (Side note, my PC did not recognize the word iPhone)  Irony.

Anyway, one week ago I completed my first 5K down in Mobile, AL.  It was a great day that started at 5 AM.  Commitment. I was pretty nervous all morning, but decided, Heck I've already spent $23 on this thing. Better follow through.  Ok I wasn't that casual about everything but I decided to have fun with it.. So, we arrived JUST in time to get signed up and use the port-a-jon and get my bib.

Yes, I look pretty terrible, but I'm pumped. This is just before the rockin' warm-up we did.

Here I am... warming up... My apologies for the awkward guy putting on his D-O or possibly scratching... No one can know.

Here we are at the starting line. Yes, I say 'WE' because this lady in front of me apparently thinks Ben is taking her photo... But, I can't blame her, she totally schooled me. She's hardcore. I'll call her Lucille Ball. That's what she makes me think of. I also like her, because she makes me look skinny in this photo.  Rock on, Lucille, rock on.

Here I am 42 minutes later feeling like a rock star.  A rock star that walked some in the middle and might have had a brief convo with the nice Girl Scout Sponsor handing out water... I digress..  I finished and that is what mattered.

So, I promptly headed for a delightful bottle of water.  And we headed back to Frutidale.  It was a pretty normal day after that, except for the fact that I accomplished something I had never done in my life.  Success. :)

Also, in case you were wondering what my lovely in-laws and husband were doing while I was puffing it around the park... here is a snap shot of there exerting morning...

Ducks...... whatever. these ducks did not run 3.1 miles..... I win
